The 2024 Science Roadshow is refreshed with new exhibits, shows and classroom ready resources.

The Science Roadshow strongly supports the Nature of Science strand and the Five Foundational Science Capabilities and is an exciting and entertaining learning programme of two live demonstrations and 55-60 hands-on exhibits that broaden students' knowledge of the STEM subjects.   

The 70 minute programme includes:

Two new shows:

The Hidden World - Aspects of the world that cannot be seen without the aid of special equipment
AND
Spectacular Changes - A look at physical & chemical changes.

New Exhibit themes:
The Body (focus on digestion and food); Energy; Materials; Measurement; Spinning and Whizzing; Telling the difference

PLUS

Resource Book:
The complimentary resource book contains many useful activities, both pre and post visit, as well as a complete unit plan on Sustainable Energy.  This resource has been developed to enhance student learning outcomes, allowing teachers to better plan and prepare students for their visit and subsequent follow up tasks.

Our tour includes –

Term 2: Auckland, North Shore, Northland, Waikato, Tauranga

Term 3:  Bay of Plenty, Hawkes Bay, Manawatu, Hutt Valley, Wairarapa, Wellington

Term 4: Marlborough, Canterbury, Otago, Southland, Nelson, Kapiti, Taranaki, Waitomo

Admission is $10 per student; supervising teachers/adults free.
