Mentoring in bicultural contexts for early childhood and primary kaiako

Examining the bicultural focus of Te Rito Maioha primary and early childhood teacher education programmes.
Exploring how liaison and associate teachers (and others in mentoring roles) can mentor within a bicultural kaupapa.
Participants will be supported to weave their understanding of how to support tauira teaching practice and the Key Teaching Tasks.
Aimed at primary and early childhood kaiako who are either in mentoring roles or have an interest in this aspect of teaching practice.
Participants will engage collaboratively through an interactive workshop to:
- Examine the bicultural focus of Te Rito Maioha primary and early childhood teacher education programmes.
- Explore how liaison and associate teachers (and others in mentoring roles) can mentor within a bicultural kaupapa.
- Start to weave understanding of Key Teaching Tasks with ideas about how to support tauira teaching practice.
