Advanced Classroom Expertise Teacher (ACET) recognition acknowledges and rewards exemplary primary teaching practice. It provides an alternative career pathway for teachers who want to stay in the classroom and who have developed their expertise to a level above that of the Experienced Teachers Professional Standards.
A recognised ACET will receive an ongoing $5,000 allowance per annum paid fortnightly, in addition to their salary.
You can submit an Expression of Interest to be considered for ACET recognition at the TeachNZ website www.teachnz.govt.nz/professional-development/advanced-classroom-expertise-teacher-recognition where you will also find the full eligibility criteria and tips on the application process.
