Principal/Tumuaki

Pompallier Catholic College is a Y7-13 co-educational Catholic school in the Marist tradition and is set in 13 acres of beautiful grounds in Te Tai Tokerau, Whangārei.  

The new Principal/Tumuaki will be a passionate and future focused leader committed to a culture of excellence, actively promoting the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, truly committed to the holistic development of each student, a caring and critical thinker, with the pervading philosophy of the Gospel of Christ lived out In the way of Mary. 

We are seeking a committed and experienced Leader who will work alongside the Board and staff to create a culture and pedagogy that promotes quality teaching and learning with students at the centre.

They will –

• Be an active participant in the local Catholic community.
• Be an engaging leader with proven capacity to work collaboratively with whānau, hapu and iwi.
• Be an experienced and dynamic educator with a deep understanding of effective pedagogy and personal excellence.
• Ability to build a strong team and motivate staff to achieve and fulfil the vision.

This is a tagged Cl47 special character position.  The successful applicant will be required to take part in religious instruction appropriate to the school's Special Character as a condition of appointment. 

The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position is set by the relevant collective agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range from $107,000 to $186,000, depending on applicant’s qualifications and experience. Individuals actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed.
