The Edgecumbe College community is seeking a new principal to lead us on the next part of our educational journey. We are looking for an experienced leader with excellent interpersonal skills, innovative educational pedagogy and effective leadership practices.  

Edgecumbe College is a Y9–13, co-educational school. Situated in the Eastern Bay of Plenty, the college serves a wide community base that extends throughout the Matatua rohe. Boasting a supportive Board, stable staff and positive community spirit, Edgecumbe College is an attractive option for an experienced or aspiring principal. A school house is available if required as an accommodation option.

The successful applicant will:

• Be an approachable leader, who naturally displays warmth, empathy, and a sense of humour with students, staff and community
• Be a NZ registered teacher with experience in managing and leading change
• Show a commitment to genuinely student-centred culturally responsive practice
• Have implemented effective, innovative educational leadership practices for a range of students
• Demonstrate a commitment to Te Ao Māori
• Be inspirational, dynamic and able to develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships within the school and local community.
