Evaluation Associates/Te Huinga Kākākura Mātauranga and Dr Melanie Riwai-Couch have partnered to bring you Niho Taniwha, a professional learning and development programme. 

In this workshop we will share the mātauranga Māori model, Niho Taniwha, from Dr Melanie Riwai-Couch’s recently published and well-received book. You will explore the Niho Taniwha model, unpack some of the capabilities required to support you for ākonga Māori to thrive.

The Niho Taniwha model takes schools, leaders and teachers through a kaupapa Māori inquiry journey to improve learning and teaching for ākonga Māori.

What to expect

  • One-day professional learning workshop. You will learn about and experience a range of evidence-based approaches.
  • The opportunity to network with other educators in your area.
