Education Gazette talks to Dr Russell Wills about approaching discussions with parents about the way their behaviour affects their children.
Application forms will be online(external link) from mid July.
This is part of the new system of PLD and the first step in the process of contracting facilitators to deliver PLD in 2017. We are accrediting individuals rather than organisations.
Applications for accreditation will be considered by a national accreditation panel, which is currently being established, and this will be followed by a procurement process to select providers and facilitators to deliver centrally funded PLD.
A database of accredited facilitators will be available online in November 2016.
Under the new system, PLD will be allocated regionally. Schools, kura and CoL will submit proposals for PLD funding to regionally based allocation panels, and if their proposal is accepted, they will be able to select their facilitator from the online list.
The first round of allocations will take place in term 4 2016.
The accreditation process will give schools, kura and CoL quality assurance when selecting a facilitator and will help them to select facilitators with the skills that match their needs.
