Taipa Area School, deeply rooted in Ngāti Kahu history, seeks a committed Year 9 Permanent Homeroom Teacher to join our vibrant team. The role involves teaching NZC Mathematics, Reading, Writing, and Social Sciences.

Candidates should have a sound understanding of the NZC and a track record of boosting student achievement. Since implementing the homeroom model for Year 9 in 2023, we have observed significant enhancements in their academic and social development. We are searching for a creative and motivated teacher, experienced with the New Zealand curriculum. Our Year 9 team includes three classroom teachers and a Leader of Learning/Well-being, all dedicated to a relational approach to teaching engaging lessons that help our students feel connected.

Applicants should be able to foster relationships, have experience or willingness to integrate Te Ao Māori into their teaching and be eager to work collaboratively with a four-person teaching team.

In this position, you'll be a Whānau Tutor. You'll guide students in their academic, personal, and cultural development, helping them to feel more connected, safe, and have a sense of belonging.

Additionally, this role offers the opportunity to rent a schoolhouse under a three-year contract, providing a unique opportunity for an NZ registered teacher to make a significant impact and thrive in a supportive, resource-rich environment.
