We are seeking a kaiako for a permanent position in a Y4-6, English medium classroom (will be Y4–5 in 2024). We are a flourishing school of 350 tamariki in beautiful Ruakākā. We have approximately 100 tamariki in our Māori immersion unit and 250 in English medium. Our staff are friendly and supportive and jobs at our kura are highly sought after. Ruakākā School is situated in Bream Bay within the rohe of Patuharakeke. We work hard to enact Te Tiriti o Waitangi, we are a PB4L kura working on schoolwide Restorative Practice, Structured literacy through IDEAL and The Learner First Mathematics. Previous experience in these areas would be an advantage. The current kaiako has worked with a colleague to plan curriculum delivery through a STEAM lens. Inclusivity is one of our SHINE values which are at the heart of everything we do. We are a Green/Gold Enviroschool and we play an active role in the Bream Bay Kāhui Ako.
