We have a rare position available for a teacher-in-training. This position is for two days per week in our infants’ room as a release cover and there will also be further opportunities to work as a relief teacher throughout the centre. So, this position is ideal for someone who is wanting to work alongside their study, and we can also provide a liaison teacher if needed.

What we are looking for:

We would love to hear from teachers whose personal philosophy aligns with our mission of providing tamariki with purposeful, caring, and play-based learning opportunities so as to support and extend their development. Our aim is to create a collaborative and fun environment where both children and kaiako work cohesively together to ensure a sense of well-being and belonging.

In addition to the above, we are looking for a kaiako who has the following attributes:

  • A commitment to quality teaching
  • The ability to respond to the developmental and emotional needs of children
  • A commitment to creating a warm and welcoming environment for our tamariki and their families / whānau
  • The ability to work as part of a supportive and close-knit team.

What we offer:

  • A competitive salary
  • Excellent teacher to children ratios
  • Paid first aid and flu jab
  • Weekly coffee of your choice from a great local café
  • Free parking
  • 50% discount on childcare fees.

If this role is of interest to you, please get in touch – we would love to hear from you!

Please note that to be considered for this opportunity you will need to already have the right to work in New Zealand (i.e. be a New Zealand or Australian citizen, New Zealand resident, or hold a valid work visa). Unfortunately, we are unable to assist candidates who require a job offer to obtain a working visa.
