Principal (Special Character Position)

This is a wonderful opportunity for a passionate, caring, innovative professional with proven teaching and leadership skills and experience, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively. Our new Principal will consolidate and build on the strengths of our school and develop new initiatives to ensure a strong culture of ongoing teaching and learning success.

We are seeking a leader who will honour this commitment and is passionate about Catholic education with the ability to enhance and promote our school’s Catholic character, vision, and values.

Our new leader will: 

• Ensure our students are positive in their own identity and have a sense of belonging to their community.
• Encourage our teaching staff to continue to grow, innovate and develop their future-focussed pedagogy.
• Foster our Catholic character, values and culture.
• Demonstrate their experience and strengths by effectively managing all aspects of the school.
• Honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi by embracing tikanga, Te Ao Māori, Te Reo Māori and Whanaungatanga. 
• Share their passion for education and focus on quality teaching and learning to enhance the success and achievement of our students.
• Continue the strong partnership with the Parish and the community.
• Collaboratively design and implement our localised curriculum. 
• Be an excellent and approachable communicator, who puts our tamariki and our community at the heart of decision making.
• Be actively involved in the wider school community.

A willingness and ability to take part in religious instruction appropriate to the special character of the school shall be a condition of appointment.
