St Mary’s Catholic School is an integrated primary school catering for approximately 450 children from new entrants to year six. We are proud of our history and heritage and value the strong bond that continues with our founding order, the Cluny Sisters.
St Mary’s Catholic School is seeking a principal who will strive to enact our vision - Together with Jesus we love, learn and serve in the Cluny spirit. Our aim is to develop confident, faith-filled learners through our learning focussed culture which supports each child’s spiritual, academic, physical, social and emotional development.
We are looking for a leader who will continue to strengthen current school performance and lead us into the future.
Our new Principal will:
be a passionate Catholic educator who is:
experienced with leading teaching and learning in a Catholic School setting
committed to being an active member of our school and parish community
have great interpersonal and communication skills which strengthen partnerships resulting in:
engaged and well informed students, staff and community
a learning focussed culture of collaboration, trust and respect
be innovative and forward thinking, focused on ensuring high quality learning opportunities through the ongoing development and implementation of a student centred, localised curriculum
actively lead, model and promote the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi and continue to strengthen the use of Te Reo Māori within our school
model and have evidence of ongoing professional growth
be up to date with educational thinking and legislative requirements
develop and sustain positive working relationships with local schools, educational agencies and networks
ensure effective systems for finance, property, health & safety
provide calm and steadying leadership in challenging situations.
This is a tagged position and a willingness and ability to lead religious instruction, appropriate to the special character of the school, is a condition of appointment.
