Is respectful care-based teaching one of your core practices?
Are you passionate about creating calm, inspiring environments for children aged 2-3.5 years old?
Do you have a genuine heart for teaching and working in partnership with parents and whanau?
Do you have a good understanding of current ECE regulations and Te Whariki, programme planning, pedagogy and curriculum, with a commitment to continuous professional development?
We are looking for two committed Kaiako for our Pikopiko Room where we will have a maximum of 30 young children with 4 kaiako. As a new centre our environment has been well thought out for both tamariki and kaiako. Our role is growing fast so we are looking for two kaiako who can support tamariki, whanau and their team to settle into positive, care based rhythms and rituals with heart. Our kaiako will need to have a good understanding of developmental and emotional needs of toddlers and young children, along with the ability to be part of a collaboartive and inclusive team.
You will join two other kaiako who are highly experienced with this age group of learners and who are ready to mentor kaiako of all experience levels including provisionally registered or in-training teachers. These kaiako strive to support autonomy, social competencies and give our tamariki unhurried time and space to explore and learn independently and in groups.
We are an extended pay parity team, have a very supportive management structure in place, our fully catered centre is licensed for 80 children. We pride ourselves on looking after our kaiako so they can support the tamariki and whanau as they learn and grow with our community.
Across the centre we are also looking for kaiako (qualified, in-training and unqualified) who enjoy the flexibility of relieving, both pre-planned and on the day options are available.
