Te Pārekereke o Te Kī is a bilingual, mixed age early childhood centre of around 32 tamariki including 8 under 2 years of age and a team of 7 Kaiako. It has a strong whānau support base and is one of five purpose built centres that are a part of the Otago University Childcare Association (OUCA).
The OUCA can offer you full pay parity, five hours non-contact per week, fortnightly paid staff meetings and significant ongoing investment in your professional growth. We provide mentoring for registration, extensive collegial and professional support and a fantastic work environment. Teaching in a large association also allows for professional growth as long term there is an opportunity to teach in a variety of centres, all of which offer different education settings and environments
We have a permanent full-time position for an ECE qualified and registered teacher/Kaiako (or teacher in training). The person we are looking for must have or be on their way to a good level of proficiency in Te Reo Māori with a passion and ability to teach in a Kaupapa Māori context.
We’re looking for a team member who is an enthusiastic participant in teaching and learning, has evidence of being an active reflective practitioner, is able to establish respectful and supportive relationships with diverse whānau, children and teachers and has a philosophical commitment to mixed age teaching. ECECA terms and conditions which include generous sick and annual leave provisions.
