Kimi Ora School is a school for high/very high needs students aged 5-21. Our base school is in Naenae and we have four satellite classes within the Lower Hutt and Wellington region. We seek an enthusiastic Physiotherapist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to be an active part of a school community, working alongside other staff in a transdisciplinary manner to enhance the learning of our students.
Desired skills will include:
Ability to work within a team to provide our learners with support around overcoming physical challenges.
Ability to complete assessments/interventions for learners with complex physical needs.
Experience providing additional training and recommendations to staff and families.
Knowledge of the Mobility Opportunities via Education (MOVE) programme is desirable.
Experience with Hydrotherapy delivery
Experience with the provision of standing frames, walking frames and creating exercise programmes.
Mōu | About you
Essential:
Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent
Full annual practising certificate with the Physiotherapy board NZ
Full New Zealand driver’s license.
Desired attributes:
Knowledgeable and comfortable working across diverse cultures.
Experience with the disability sector/school environment is an advantage.
Good communication and interpersonal skills and ability to build and sustain high-trust relationships with all stakeholders.
Solutions focused approach.
Role information:
52 week position; with work during the school holidays for planning and preparation however applicants looking at a part time role are welcome to apply.
