2024 NZLA National Symposium - Building Resilient Minds with Critical Literacy

Professional development (PD) Waikato, Canterbury

Posted: 17 July 2024
Notice reference #: 1HAhQM

A one day event in Hamilton and Christchurch.

Dr. Susan Sandretto and Dr. Aaron Wilson will be our keynotes as we explore the concept of Critical Literacy.

We will also have a range of Workshop Presenters and Trade Exhibitors on the day.

Why teach Critical Literacy?

Critical literacy helps students become flexible, resilient thinkers, consider ideas from multiple perspectives, detect misinformation, and enjoy engaging with texts. It fosters empathy and inclusivity and combats stereotypes. Becoming critically literate ensures students are well equipped for learning throughout their school years and beyond.
