Notice reference #: 1HAguJ

The RIE® Foundations Theory and Observation™ course is a 10 day intensive designed to enhance the skills implementing respectful care and education with our youngest tamariki.

It provides an overview of:

  • respectful care routines to enhance secure attachment
  • natural motor development, gross motor and fine motor
  • development that is driven by the innate urge to play
  • uninterrupted play and the importance of play
  • social-emotional development
  • art of sensitive observation
  • adults' and infants' needs, expectations, and learning process
  • exploring an appropriate "curriculum" for infants and toddlers
  • infant and toddler environments for play and caregiving.

RIE's goal is an authentic child, who feels secure, autonomous, competent and connected.

This small group course is a reflective space that allows time and space to develop and deepen your understanding of infant development and care within an integrated model for the care and education of infants and the very young through Magda Gerber's Educaring™ Approach.

The course content will be presented through conversations, PowerPoint presentations, DVD(s) and video clips, experiential activities, small group and whole group discussions. My goal is to create a comfortable and responsive learning environment to support your learning.
