Part 1 of a series

This PLD is part 1 of a planned series of workshops aimed at supporting kaiako understand and implement indigenous values within teacher resources Tātaiako and Tapasā in their teaching and learning philosophy and practice.

This first workshop provides an overview of both documents and why they are important and relevant documents, and how these resources can be effective in supporting kaiako in their work with Māori and Pacific learners and their families.

As part of this workshop, kaiako will have time and space to reflect on their own cultural values and beliefs and how these inform and support their teaching and learning philosophies and practices by creating a resource about themselves and for themselves.

Furthermore, we will explore the cultural values within both documents as part of understanding, and then we will facilitate discussions of ways kaiako can apply these values in their practice that engages and enhances the mana of Māori and Pacific learners and their families in their education settings.
