People First: Safety Checking for ECE recruitment
Waikato Early Childhood Centres Workshop Series
New Leaders Workshop 2:
People First; Safety Checking
(Fully funded by Ministry of Education Waikato SELO)
This workshop will allow you to understand how the whole employment process contributes to ensuring the best employment outcomes for your service, children and whānau as well as for the candidate, and how the whole process forms part of the safety checking required by legislation.
Through a thorough review of the requirements of your team, setting the scene early on for candidates, asking the right questions in both the interview process and the reference checking process, you can ensure the safety of not only your children, but also the wellbeing of your whole team through getting the right culture and fit.
Understanding the Children’s Act, how it relates to the Early Childhood sector, the legal requirements and the importance of being thorough will ensure the safeguarding of our children.
This will be an interactive workshop, allowing participants to practice and build on their skills in all of these areas.
This workshop is part of a series of four workshops for Waikato Early Childhood Service owners and leaders.
