We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and passionate kaiako to join our team. 

We believe in providing a back to basics environment for our tamariki. We encourage tamariki to interact daily with our animals and plants to understand their importance. Our centre has a rural feel which is centred around the natural environment. 

The ideal applicant must have the following:

  • strong communication skills and able to develop relationships with tamariki, whānau and kaiako,
  • able to work in a team environment and be flexible,
  • have an ECE qualification,
  • sound knowledge of Te Whāriki, planning and evaluation,
  • willingness to get their hands dirty, feed/care for animals and is enthusiastic about the outdoors.

We are a privately owned family business on the outskirts of Timaru. We have a purpose-built centre with three spacious rooms and beautiful outdoor spaces. We have low teacher to children ratios. We offer kaiako opportunities for professional development. We are a fun and outgoing teaching team with a strong team culture. We have opted into extended pay parity.

This full-time position is 40 hours per week however is flexible for the right candidate.
