The Board is seeking an educational leader who possesses the following attributes:
An experienced educational leader with a track record of success
Be a visible, open and approachable leader, capable of fostering positive relationships with staff, students, and whānau.
Ability to create a positive and inclusive school culture that promotes student wellbeing and engagement.
Has strengths in culturally responsive and inclusive practices that celebrate our multicultural demographic, while acknowledging the special place of Māori as tangata whenua.
Proven ability to build strong partnerships with local community organisations, and educational agencies.
A sound knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, with competence and confidence in te reo Māori and tikanga
Experienced with both the New Zealand Curriculum and Te Marautanga o Aotearoa, with the ability to integrate these to reflect the school’s unique identity and values and to foster unity within the school community.
Has some understanding and experience with finance, property, budgeting, personnel and health and safety
An excellent communicator who listens to and collaboratively engages with all staff, students and their parents, to meet the needs and aspirations of the school’s community.
Is resilient and has the courage to lead.
Shows genuine care for the staff, students, and their families.
Understands and addresses the diverse needs and backgrounds of the school community with compassion and empathy.
