Head kaiako

We are looking for an experienced certificated/NZ registered head kaiako to join our highly motivated and enthusiastic nursery teaching team who provide high-quality early childhood care and education for tamariki in Rolleston, Canterbury. This is a permanent position and an excellent opportunity to progress your leadership capabilities with strong mentoring and support from our leadership team and management.

Candidates will:

• Be passionate about primary caregiving
• Have strong responsive and respectful communication with teaching team, management and whānau
• Have leadership experience in the ECE sector
• Demonstrate an ability to work as part of a diverse team and good time management skills
• Have the ability to communicate effectively
• Show excellent attention to detail
• Have the right to live & work in New Zealand/Aotearoa (sorry not taking anyone who needs an accredited employer currently)
• Be able to work minimum 4 full days between the hours of 7am and 5.30pm
• Have full or provisional registration with a current practising certificate
• Have an energetic and a nurturing personality
• Have a high level of initiative and strong leadership qualities
• Experience in writing learning profiles and the ability to use online software
• Experience in Internal Evaluation
• An interest in the Montessori philosophy
• If you are a Montessori trained teacher, this would be a real bonus or someone willing to do the training which we can help contribute to.
