We’re seeking a vibrant, motivated, creative, and passionate educator with a sparkling personality to join our well-resourced centre to support our tamariki, parents and whānau in facilitating child led play.
You will work alongside our centre whanau to open the sessions and guide activities, facilitate learning for our members and tamariki while role modelling child led play and positive guidance.
To support whanau in the use of Te Reo Maori, encourage participation in the Playcentre Education programme to increase qualification levels at our centre, and demonstrate the benefits of participating to whānau.

As soon as possible.
Location:
Leithfield Playcentre.
Days & hours:
Mondays 9.15am–1.15pm. This is a permanent position, during school term time only.
The ideal candidate must have the following:
- Hold a Playcentre Course 3 qualification or higher or an Early Childhood qualification of Level 4 or higher.
- A current First Aid Certificate or be willing to achieve this.

Desirable skills and experience will include:
Knowledge and understanding of Te Whariki and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
A passion for Playcentre and our philosophy.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with tamariki and adults.
An ability to support and empower parents, whanau and caregivers in their role as kaiako.
A willingness to upskill and meet new Playcentre qualification requirements as required; Confidence when speaking within a group.
A passion for supporting Te Reo Maori and tikanga and engaging all whanau to feel a sense of belonging on our session.
