Taupo-nui-a-Tia College is looking to appoint an outstanding individual to work in our English Faculty for a full-time permanent position from the beginning of term 3, 2024.
This role would be suitable for primary trained teachers who have expertise in teaching literacy to NCL5, particularly those who are confident in teaching a range of reading and writing strategies. Support to transition into a high school setting will be provided.
The successful candidate will be someone who is able to foster good relationships with students, be able to work confidently alongside our teenage akonga and have a passion for improving literacy.
Co-curricular involvement in the wider life of the school is encouraged and an advantage.
Taupo-nui-a-Tia College is a co-educational secondary school with a roll of approximately 1100 students. About thirty percent of our students identify as Māori, and we have strong connections with our local iwi, Ngāti Tūwharetoa.
The successful candidate will be making a commitment to learn or continue learning about Ngāti Tūwharetoatanga. In order to work in our school it is important to understand the stories, land, and the people of our mana whenua.
