Alternative Learning Programme Teacher

We are looking for a New Zealand registered, experienced teacher who has a passion for working with young people who are disengaging with education. Teaching will be mainly in small groups or one-on-one with student learners with a range of ages and levels of learning readiness, supporting students to achieve their Individual Learning Plans.

We invite applications from teachers with a background in any subject specialisation. However adaptability is a key attribute as you will be expected to teach across various subjects and upskill where necessary.

Knowledge of the changes to the NZ Curriculum, especially in literacy and numeracy is essential.  The ability to build positive relationships with rangatahi and their Whānau is essential and knowledge of Tikanga and Te Ao Māori would be an advantage.
