Exciting and unique opportunity leading science-based learning experience inspiring students to look after our natural environment. The Tread Lightly Charitable Trust (TLCT) was founded in 2007, to inspire New Zealanders to live sustainably. TLCT operates a mobile environmental classroom which visits primary and intermediate schools in the Auckland region. Now a well-established part of the curriculum, TLCT have delivered their mobile environmental learning experience at around three hundred schools and hosted more than 100,000 students. Using fun engaging interactive exhibits and activities, TLCT inspires students to live more environmentally responsible lifestyles that reduce carbon emissions and waste, protect nature, and prevent water pollution. TLCT offers a unique, and cost-effective environmental education opportunity with activities that cannot be replicated in the classroom. Pre- and post-visit learning materials are provided. Schools do not have to travel to external locations, and the high impact sessions are facilitated by the TLCT teachers.

An exciting role as the TLCT lead educator is now available. We offer a flexible, supportive workplace where you can apply your teaching skills to inspire others to protect our natural environment for future, generations. As lead educator you will play a key role in designing and continually improving the unique high impact learning experience, we offer to Y1–8 students. You will lead a small team (7–8) of part-time teachers and assistants. As part of your leadership role, you will be required to assist with operational tasks such as rostering, and training. We are looking for a trained certified teacher who is a creative innovative thinker with a collaborative positive approach to leading a small team of passionate teachers and assistants.
