Centre manager/certified ECE teacher (kaiako)

Millie's House is opening a small education and care centre in Wellington City.  We are seeking an experienced leader who has led a centre or is wanting to step up to a centre manager role as their next growth step. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in setting up a centre with the support of an experienced group of managers.

The location of the centre is 19 Hopper St, Wellington City. 

This is a full-time role, and the manager will be involved in working as part of the teaching team as well as the management of the centre. The successful applicant will have experience in internal evaluation and centre systems as well as working to an Annual and Strategic Plan. 

Millie’s House offers Extended Pay Parity as the base, with additional steps for leadership roles and above benchmark ratios. Additionally, management bonuses are in place for performance in key areas.

We are seeking a trained and experienced early childhood teacher with NZ recognised qualifications who embraces the diversity of Wellington and the local curriculum we support. Applicants for a manager role must have experience teaching in the New Zealand context. New to New Zealand applicants may be considered if they can evidence knowledge of the New Zealand ECE teaching and leadership context to the degree that they can lead their team with knowledge and understanding in this.

A centre manager, who is a certified ECE teacher for Millie's House, works with mana, aspiration and commitment to the operational high performance of their centre and teaching space, in ensuring safety, wellbeing and positive relationships with all when setting the curriculum, environment and guiding the children’s educational and developmental journey.
