We have an exciting opportunity for a Kaiwhakaako | head teacher to join our team at Rāwhiti Kindergarten in Matamata.

Our kaiako are respected and supported through ongoing professional development opportunities, to ensure we are always learning and improving our delivery of Te Whāriki early childhood curriculum. 

Central Kids is a party to the Kindergarten Teachers', Head Teachers’ and Senior Teachers’ Collective Agreement (KTCA). The current head teacher salary is $103,622.00 per annum.

Ko wai koe? | Who are you? 

We are looking for a dedicated, knowledgeable leader who: 

• Has a demonstrated knowledge of ECE business operational requirements eg: staffing, funding and licensing criteria
• Is able to demonstrate a working knowledge of Te Whāriki
• Is a strong advocate for tamariki
• Can demonstrate the value of Te Tiriti O Waitangi based partnerships with tamariki and whānau
• Is committed to te ao Māori, Te Tiriti o Waitangi and te reo Māori me ona tikanga
• Has an awareness of the culture of child protection and the rights of tamariki
• Is willing to create and maintain strong relationships with the wider community and outside agencies

Requirements for this role:

• ECE qualified – (minimum Level 7) 
• Hold a current practising certificate and first aid certification
• Entitled to work in New Zealand.
