Y5–6 teacher

Dargaville Primary School is seeking a passionate, adaptable and dedicated teacher to join our team as a Y5 & 6 teacher.

This is a full-time position suitable for an innovative educator who is committed to providing high-quality education and support to our students.

Key responsibilities:

- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons for Y5 & 6 students.

- Create a family-like learning context within your classroom,

- Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback, feedforward and support.

- Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support student development and well-being.

- Participate in school activities, events, and professional development programs.

Requirements:

- New Zealand teaching qualification and current registration. 

- Experience teaching in a primary school setting, particularly with Y5 & 6 students.

- Strong understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum and effective teaching practices.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
