About the role: 

We are on the lookout for an inspiring leader with a passion for nurturing the growth and development of our biggest tamariki, aged 4 to 5 years old at BestStart Waiuku. We're looking for an exceptional qualified early childhood head teacher to lead our preschool room, where tamariki represent the mighty Kauri Tree and embark on a remarkable journey of learning.

This is a permanent position working 40 hours Monday to Friday. 

Role requirements: 

We're looking for a natural leader who shares our values and vision who has a good understanding of programme planning and assessment as well as a drive and passion for growth.  

As well as: 

  • B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE or primary) and current teacher certification 
  • A strong understanding of programme planning, pedagogy and curriculum 
  • Good knowledge of the current ECE regulations, Te Whāriki and hold compliance in a high regard 
  • Passion and commitment for teaching and learning with a focus on delivering quality.
