Southside Kids Childcare Centre, Newtown, Wellington.

Kia ora! We are looking for a new ECE or primary trained kaiako to join our small privately-owned and operated ECE centre in Newtown, Wellington.

New graduates are welcome, too!

However we are not an accredited centre, so it is not suitable for overseas applicants.

This position is for 5 days per week.

We are a small whānau focused centre that works in close partnership with our whānau to provide the best care and education for our children. 

Established in 1994, we are a culturally rich and diverse centre that is well established within the Newtown Community.  

We are situated right on the edge of Wellington’s green belt, surrounded by nature! 

Our team is 100% qualified – even our owner/operator is a teacher (!!) and we are looking for a registered ECE or primary teacher to join our team.

Qualities we are looking for in a kaiako include:

🔹️ Someone who is comfortable working with both under 2s and over 2s.

🔹️ Someone who can build strong relationships with children and their whānau.

🔹️ An energetic and enthusiastic team player who can work collaboratively.

🔹️ Someone who can be flexible and adaptable. 

🔹️ Someone who can use their initiative. 

🔹️ Someone with good time management skills who is reliable and honest.

🔹️ Someone who is confident writing learning stories using Te Whāriki. 

Ultimately we are looking for someone who shares our passion for early childhood education, and will become a valued member of our team.
