Maihiihi School seeks a new leader. We are a fun and vibrant rural school located 25 minutes from Te Awamutu. Our current roll is 65 amazing students. In 2024 we will have three full-time teachers, one redeployed teacher, one teacher aide and an Executive Officer. The principal is strongly supported by the School Board.

Key Appointment Criteria:

• excellent communicator who confidently engages with, motivates, and inspires others, including key stakeholders, local businesses, and COL partners
• personable, approachable, inclusive, and visible, within the school and wider community
• promotes a collaborative approach to decision-making and fosters a team culture
• ensure hauora is a priority, whilst encouraging and supporting success and achievement for all learners
• demonstrates knowledge of, and experience in curriculum, assessment, and evaluation
• a strategic thinker, able to plan strategically and implement goals and targets through focussed actions

Ideal person attributes include financial and business acumen, ability to learn on the job, ICT competencies, and a good sense of humour.

We are ideally looking for someone who can start at the beginning of term 3 2024, however, this is negotiable.
