Community of Learning | Kāhui Ako, schools and kura can now put together proposals for PLD support, have them assessed by a panel based in their local area and, if they are successful, choose the PLD facilitator whom they think will best suit their own context.

I haven’t applied for centrally funded PLD, are we too late?

If you haven’t applied this term, you can apply again early in 2017. Community of Learning | Kāhui Ako, schools and kura can now submit PLD proposals every term. You can see the key dates and deadlines for your area online at services.education.govt.nz/pld.

My proposal was successful, what are my next steps?

Congratulations – the next steps are very simple. From 25 November you can search all facilitators available to choose by visiting services.education.govt.nz/pld. You will be able to view a Summary of Practice, references, and contact details for all facilitators who are contracted to deliver centrally funded PLD in your area.

When you have found one who suits your needs, contact them directly using the details online, and see if they are available for your work. If they are available, you can arrange to meet and agree a delivery plan.

You can find out more about this process on the education services website(external link)

My PLD proposal wasn’t successful, what next?

If you haven’t been successful with your proposal in this round, you can apply again. PLD proposals can be submitted every term, so you will be able to reapply for PLD in early 2017. In the meantime, you may want to ask your local Ministry area advisor for feedback.

Community of Learning | Kāhui Ako, schools and kura who are self-funding their own PLD may also find the online directory of accredited facilitators useful. This is a list of all facilitators who have passed the accreditation process. The list includes their contact details, references and details about their practice.
