Teacher of the deaf – Tawa College

We are seeking an experienced registered teacher with a current practising certificate for an exciting opportunity in our new secondary Ko Taku Reo provision opening in term 1, 2025 in partnership with Tawa College.  

We have a unique position that offers a rewarding challenge and incredible benefits working with deaf and hard of hearing students (DHH). Prior experience working with DHH students is desirable. 

We are establishing a new deaf provision/satellite unit in partnership with Tawa College and are in search of a new team member to join our teaching staff as part of the exciting journey, starting in 2025. We ideally are looking for a candidate to join us in term 4 in preparation for the new group of Y9 and 10 students who will join the provision in term 1, 2025.

You will be showing new families around, setting up the classroom, coordinating secondary school timetables and working with Tawa College staff to increase their deaf culture and awareness, including understanding about our specialist services team.
