St Margaret’s College (SMC) is one of New Zealand’s leading girls’ schools with a proud history of academic, sporting, and cultural excellence. We have multiple learning pathways with a Foundation Diploma, NCEA and the International Baccalaureate Diploma programme, and a strong emphasis on wellbeing and pastoral care, as well as academic success.

Through a commitment to holistic education, balancing academic excellence with a multitude of co-curricular opportunities, students and staff are encouraged and supported to discover their passions and be the very best they can be.

The role

We are looking for a part time, fixed term, experienced leader and educator in co-curricular arts programmes, to seamlessly fit into our Performing Arts Faculty, to cover for a period of parental leave. The key deliverables are to carry on the great work in delivering the Trust Board's Strategic Objectives.

Working alongside an experienced and established team, the role will lead the co-ordination and promotion of all co-curricular arts events and groups and manage the arts spaces. This role will also support college shows and productions.

Leadership experience is essential as this role has a broad managerial and leadership responsibility of production staff, specialist teachers and tutors, Theatre Dance Academy, and co-ordination of the speech and drama programme. A teaching qualification would be desirable given the environment this role operates within.

In this role you will need to bring your previous leadership experience to lead and work with students and the team, along with your production and directing experience. This role will also develop student leadership and involvement in the Arts.

Applicants must be able to start no later than Monday 20 January 2025, however an earlier start date could be negotiable with the successful candidate.
