Kia ora!

Are you an experienced educational leader ready to drive meaningful change? Fraser Crescent School is seeking a dynamic educator to join our leadership team as deputy principal in 2025. We’re looking for someone with a strong commitment to educational excellence, a passion for fostering a positive and inclusive school culture and a great sense of humour! The role also includes a teaching component across the kura and experience working in junior school is advantageous.

Key responsibilities:

Classroom Teacher / Team Leader

Establish and maintain a learning-focused and inclusive classroom culture and contribute meaningfully to your teaching team. This could potentially include the leadership of your team.

Behaviour Management

Implement strategies that ensure a safe, supportive learning environment. Support teachers in managing student behaviour and fostering positive classrooms.

School Culture

Champion a school culture that embodies our values – Future Focussed, Respectful, Active Adventurer, Striving for Success, Enthusiastic and Resourceful.  Engage with the school community to bring these values to life.

Skills and experience:

  • Leadership experience within a primary school setting.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in te reo and Tīkanga Māori.
  • Knowledge of contemporary curriculum development and pedagogy.
  • Expertise in behaviour management and student welfare.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to inspire and motivate others.
  • Commitment to nurturing a positive school culture and community engagement.

The role would likely come with 4PMU and be classroom based 0.8 with 0.2 leadership release.

Depending on the applicant and changes in staffing, specific details could be up for discussion.

One of the many things we’re known for is our warm and welcoming staff, so feel free to book a tour/chat with John Channer (principal@frasercres.school.nz) if you are interested in the role and would like to hear more.
