With sixteen campuses throughout NZ, we are committed to ensuring all students achieve their full potential. This role will be based at our Regional Support Office in Onehunga, Auckland.

The sub-regional director of teaching and learning – secondary (SRDTL-S) will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic landscape within NZ. Reporting directly to the regional director of teaching and learning – secondary, the SRDTL-S oversees academic and achievement programmes, directing the work of teachers and collaborating with campus principals to implement the Learning to Learn Framework.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the development of a personalised secondary curriculum plan.
  • Manage the work of allocated teachers to deliver high-quality educational programmes.
  • Ensure effective Assignment design through strategic leadership, ensuring all learning is delivered.
  • Co-lead the induction programme for new education staff, ensuring adherence to the Global Teacher Academy programme.
  • Develop and implement an annual professional learning programme for secondary teachers.
  • Lead the implementation of the MAP Growth programme, ensuring comprehensive analysis and reporting of student performance.
  • Deliver and report on Key Performance Indicators for academic progress, quality of Assignments, and departmental performance.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with all OSG stakeholders.

About you:

  • Qualified teacher with classroom experience.
  • Experience in a middle or senior educational leadership position.
  • Demonstrated experience in curriculum and assessment leadership within a secondary school setting including strong data analysis skills – being able to navigate a spreadsheet is a must!
  • Proven track record of improving student outcomes through strategic planning and data analysis.
