About us

Ellesmere College-Te Kāreti o Waihora is an innovative and forward-thinking coeducational Y7–13 school located in Leeston, approximately 30 minutes south of Christchurch. We welcome a diverse range of ākonga and staff with culturally responsive and sustaining practice at the heart of what we do. Our pedagogical approach is based on strong positive relationships which provides contextualised and coherent opportunities for deep learning. Learning design is based on learner voice and agency which allows ākonga to develop skills, knowledge and qualifications. 

 About you

We seek an enthusiastic, motivated teacher to start in 2025 in our junior team. If you have a love of working with Y7-8 students and are keen to work in a collaborative environment then we want to hear from you. There may be opportunities to teach in alternative areas depending on skill set.

• Start date 27 January 2025 (or by negotiation) 
• Applicants must be registered with the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand (or have this process in progress)
• Applicants must complete the job application form
• Overseas applicants must have completed NZQA Qualifications Assessment & be eligible for a working visa.
