About role:

Position is timetabled to teach both food technology, as well as general Technology, in a Middle College programme. Additional experience in, or willingness to, work across different areas of Technology and/or DVC would be beneficial. We are looking for this person to join our team in Term 4, or by negotiation for the preferred candidate.

Key duties and responsibilities: 

  • Have the ability to teach food technology from Y10-13
  • Have a willingness to teach across a range of Technology areas from years 7-9 as part of a large team of experienced Technology teachers
  • Maintain a high standard of teaching and learning
  • Contribute towards Technology based co-curricular clubs
  • Assist with curriculum strategy, annually reviewing units of work and programmes and analysing relevant data
  • Collaborate with other curriculum leaders and teachers to support the faculties and achievement of school wide strategic goals
  • Promote and grow the subject and enhancing academic progress.

Key skills and experiences: 

  • Registered NZ teacher with valid practicing certificate
  • Teaching degree or equivalent education and/or experience
  • Detailed knowledge, understanding and experience of current teaching methodologies and assessment practices
  • Ability to relate effectively to young people, colleagues and other stakeholders with strong relationship management skills
