We are seeking an inspiring and passionate teacher starting term 1, 2025 who will be in our Y7 homeroom for the majority of the week (approximately 14 hours a week). There is capacity to teach another class alongside this, so stating your strengths (especially if you can teach an NCEA subject) is an advantage. 

Our homeroom teacher will deliver both academic learning and pastoral care to students. Our school embraces all the opportunities that our middle school model allows us and we are looking for a team player to embrace this.

Successful candidates must have an excellent working knowledge of the NZ Curriculum and be highly student-centered to accelerate learning. The ability to teach Structured Literacy and take a Structured Mathematics approach would be an advantage.

  • The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position is set by the Secondary Teachers Collective Agreement (SCTA). The base salary for trained and registered teachers is in section 4.1.1 of the STCA, and is dependent on the applicant’s qualifications and experience. Individuals actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed.
  • Applicants must have current NZ teacher certification and should have NZ residency / or a valid NZ work visa. Our school is part of the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) scheme.
