Ako Rolleston is looking for a qualified and certificated kaiako for a unique position in our centre. 

The successful candidate will work 8.30am-5pm on Mondays and Fridays covering one of our kaiako in our Wāhi Ako Pihinga Rua classroom (our older O2 children) and 9am-3pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday covering non-contact or as needed during throughout the centre. 

About us

Ako is a small, family run centre in the heart of Rolleston. Rachael is a qualified pre-school teacher with over 20-years of experience. Andrew is resident handyman who keeps the place in order which enables our team of Kaiako to provide the highest quality care for our tamariki. Their love for the children, the team and their passion for providing the best quality care is what gets them out of bed each morning. We have three classrooms and provide care for 0-6 years of age. Our centre operates between the hours of 7am – 5pm, Monday – Friday. 

We’re looking for you to demonstrate the following qualifications and skills:

  • Full or provisional certification
  • First aid certificate (desired but not essential)
  • Child-focused teaching approach
  • You act with honesty and transparency
  • Excellent communication
  • You value building and maintain strong relationships with whānau and your colleagues.
  • A commitment to your professional growth and supporting the growth of others.
