We are looking for reflective and adaptable practitioners to join our special needs teaching team, working with diverse groups of students of varying ages, all of whom have complex learning needs. Expertise in special education pedagogy, may be helpful, however full training and induction will be provided. Proven effective classroom practice is essential. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative, compassionate and enthusiastic teacher.

Hamilton North School is a specialist school for children and young people who have additional and complex learning needs. Our students are aged 5-21 years and are supported in their learning by a multidisciplinary team inclusive of teachers, support staff, therapists and specialists. Our school follows the NZ Curriculum, which is adapted and individualised to meet the specific learning needs of our diverse students. This is a full-time position. Positions are available to commence in term 4 and the start of 2025.

The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position is set by the Primary Teachers Collective Agreement. Individuals actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed.
