Deputy principal

Reporoa College is looking to appoint a deputy principal to become an integral part of our experienced Senior Leadership Team. We are seeking a collaborative and strategically minded educational leader with a school leadership background.  You will join a Senior Team that is committed to student wellbeing, engagement, empowerment and personal student achievement.

Our successful applicant will:

• Be an approachable leader who naturally portrays strong inter personal skills, warmth, compassion and a leadership style that is based on developing strong relationships and connections with our students, staff and community
• Demonstrate a commitment to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi across all aspects of our deputy principal role and be able to demonstrate an understanding of Te Ao Maori
• Show a commitment to genuinely student-centred culturally responsive leadership practice
• Be able to demonstrate innovative educational leadership approaches, with a clear expectation of Student Academic Achievement along with Vocational Pathways, for our diverse range of students
• Be inspirational, passionate and able to develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships within our Kura, our community, and with local Iwi
• Be prepared to lead proactively and to make challenging decisions when required
• Be a NZ registered teacher with experience in leading progressive change, based on the needs of our students.

While there is no specific portfolio at this stage, the successful candidate will be able to negotiate roles and responsibilities based on our shared Senior Leadership Team strengths, skill sets and development opportunities. Plus other allowances available, to be negotiated.
