Are you ready to embark on a rewarding journey in education? Northcote Central Kindergarten is proud to provide quality early childhood education and is on the hunt for a head kaiako. This pivotal role requires a dynamic leader with exceptional relationship-building skills and a passion for fostering a diverse and inclusive teaching environment.

At Northcote Central, we nurture not only the minds but also the hearts of our students, with a strong focus on sustainability and environmental education. If you are an inspiring educator who can provide a safe learning haven, read on to discover why this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Our beautiful kindergarten really is a hidden gem! Tucked away in the heart of Northcote Central, we have created an oasis amidst a rapidly growing suburb.

As an Enviroschool we work alongside our tamariki to help them become kaitiaki/guardians of Papatūānuku/our environment. Enjoy the colourful blooms, fruit and vegetable bounty the children have sown, grown and harvested. Learning to refuse, reuse, recycle is an integral part of what we do here.

We are looking for an experienced head kaiako who is passionate about providing excellent learning experiences to our tamariki. You will need to be energetic and enthusiastic, driven by our play-based philosophy and have a strong emphasis on respect and cultural diversity. Balancing professional leadership with management of the day-to-day kindergarten operations and teaching duties means variety and intrinsic reward.

We encourage anyone interested in applying to visit our Kindergarten (please call ahead). To find out more about Northcote Central Kindergarten, please visit the AKA website.
