We are seeking an experienced and motivated leader for our strong and well-resourced Learning Support Department who has demonstrated a strong commitment to inclusive practices and giving effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. The role involves working with a wide range of students – some with high and complex needs. This role requires a person who can develop strong and resilient relationships with whānau to collaboratively support young people to achieve their potential. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the Learning Support department
  • Management of teacher assistants
  • Liaising with external agencies
  • Managing special assessment conditions employee
  • Provide individualised support to students with diverse learning needs
  • Work closely with teachers to develop and implement inclusive teaching strategies
  • Collaborate with whānau to ensure a cohesive approach to student support
  • Uphold and promote the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi within the learning environment.
