About us:

We serve students aged 5-21 and are dedicated to enhancing student achievement. We have a central campus and satellite units in Whangārei, providing a dynamic and supportive environment for both students and staff.

Position available:

Permanent, full-time position available, Monday to Friday.

The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position is set by the Primary Teachers’ Collective Agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range from $59,027 to $99,216, depending on the applicant's qualifications and experience. Individuals' actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed.

The position is to provide cover for our Whangārei classes, starting as soon as available. This may include for absences, CRT, some long-term cover, and eventually lead to a single classroom placement.  

The ideal applicant will have:

• Prior experience with special needs teaching
• An ability to collaborate with colleagues across disciplines
• Strong written and oral communications skills
• Effective team leadership, and parent/caregiver interaction skills
• Flexibility, a sense of humour, and strong organisational skills.
