We are seeking a warm, compassionate, and dedicated kaiako to take on the dual role of assistant centre manager and curriculum lead at our centre. With ample outdoor space, including a veggie garden for the tamariki to nurture, our centre offers a perfect setting for those who love nature and outdoor activities. This role is diverse, dynamic, and requires strong planning and time management skills. We’re looking for someone who is fully registered, rich in knowledge, and eager to contribute to our passionate and committed team at Active Explorers Blenheim.

In your role, you will:

  • Lead the development and regular review of centre-specific procedures, policies, practices, and environments through an ongoing cycle of internal evaluation.
  • Design and implement a curriculum that aligns with Te Whāriki and supporting ECE documents, ensuring it is regularly evaluated and adapted.
  • Create a safe and inclusive learning environment that meets the physical, social, cultural, and emotional needs of all learners.
  • Role model exemplary teaching practices and guide your team on a continuous journey of improvement.
  • Support our pursuit of excellence across all areas of service.

What we’re looking for in you:

  • ECE qualification with current or provisional teaching registration.
  • A positive, nurturing approach to teaching young children.
  • A passion for quality education, care, and commitment.
  • Strong knowledge of ECE regulations.
