Inspiring academic excellence, leadership and a love of learning.
Hillmorton High School is a diverse urban coeducational school situated in the south-west of Christchurch. The school is a fast growing Y7–13 school with dedicated middle and senior school. We have a roll of around 1,300 and with further building works underway, the roll is expected to increase in the next few years. We provide students with a caring and supportive environment, to help them achieve academic excellence, leadership skills and a love of learning.
Commencing term 4, 2024, we are searching for a permanent kaiako who believes in building positive relationships with emerging adolescents. We value the culture in Y7 & 8 and work collaboratively to maintain a positive high functioning working environment. The ideal candidate will motivate and engage our ākonga by keeping them at the centre of their learning journey through creative teaching practices in literacy and numeracy.
A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the understanding and ability to teach using culturally responsive and relational pedagogy is essential.
The successful applicant must be a NZ registered teacher and be willing to commit to our co-curricular programme also.
