Leader of learning Y7–8

Tikipunga High School is a coeducational Y7–13 school located in Whangārei. We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced (or aspiring) leader, with a passion for learning, to lead our small and committed team of junior school teachers (Y7 and 8). The successful applicant will lead curriculum design and departmental teaching and learning. Strengths and experience in literacy and/or numeracy are an advantage. 

This is an exciting opportunity to lead in a well-resourced teaching environment. Applicants should have a focus on raising Māori achievement, a genuine passion for teaching and a sense of humour. They must have a willingness to work collaboratively and make a positive contribution to the team. A strong commitment to culturally responsive and relational pedagogy and restorative approaches is essential.  

The leader of learning has a teaching role in the department, please state teaching strengths. The successful applicant must hold New Zealand teacher registration.

Commencement date is term 1, 2025 or earlier by negotiation.
