Are you a motivated and passionate teacher eager to make a difference in the lives of young learners? We are seeking a new entrant teacher to join our vibrant and supportive learning community for term 4.

About us

St Thomas's School is a high-performing, state school set in a beautiful environment overlooking the sea to Rangitoto Island. Our students excel and experience rich, varied and meaningful learning opportunities. We are proud of the high-quality teaching and learning we offer and the extensive range of academic, social, cultural and sporting activities available to our students. These include; STEAM lessons, environmental science, bike and pump tracks, EOTC activities, GATE and learning extension, learning support, ESOL, a swimming pool, all weather play spaces, extensive fields, stage productions and involvement in the AIMS Games.

New entrant teacher role responsibilities

• Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
• Develop classroom routines that prepare our youngest students for Y1
• Deliver engaging and effective teaching in early literacy and numeracy
• Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

The terms and conditions, including base salary, are set by the relevant collective agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers ranges from $59,027 to $99,216, depending on qualifications and experience. Actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed.
